The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) initiative has recognized the importance of young Hong Kongers' development. This research project utilized big data analysis and online surveys to understand their perceptions of living and working in the GBA. The objective is to provide policy recommendations for enhancing local young people's understanding and opportunities in the GBA.

The analysis of online discussions revealed positive sentiments towards the GBA's economy, but concerns were raised about working and living in the GBA and cultural differences. Key topics discussed included development opportunities, government support, employment/career, and salary. Discussions on living in the GBA focused on property, transportation, quality of life, and education.

The survey findings identified strengths such as language proficiency, international visions, and intercultural understanding among Hong Kong youth. Weaknesses included unfamiliarity with local work culture and lack of networks. Benefits of working in the GBA included market knowledge, experience, networks, and understanding of the work culture.

Policy recommendations include language and cultural training, networking and mentorship programs, orientation programs, collaboration between educational institutions, and cross-border initiatives.

In conclusion, understanding young Hong Kong adults' perspectives is crucial for effective engagement in the GBA. The proposed policy recommendations aim to enhance their understanding and equip them with the necessary skills and networks to seize the opportunities in the GBA.
